Rereading Bielefeldt's "Dogen's Manuals of Zen Meditation"--Chapter 5. Chapter 1. Chapter 2. Chapter 3. Chapter 4. Chapter 5 deals with the specific Tenpuku manuscript for the Fukan Zazen Gi (the earlier treatment of the work; not the one regularly cited by Soto in the centuries since), its contents, and how that content relates to the Tso-Chan I, Chih-I's writings, earlier Zen/Ch'an . Dogen's Manuals of Zen Meditation a rebuttal to ewk. So I finally finished the Bielefeldt book on Dogen: Dogen's manuals of Zen Meditation as well as went back over some of the Hakuin and other texts I've read. And, personally took from it a very different set of conclusions than ewk did. This revised copy is the one generally known to followers of Dogen. It is these three meditation manuals, the one by Tsung-tse, the original one by Dogen and the later revision that form the focus of Bielefeldt's book.
